At the Williams Bay Farmers Market, Summer 2022

Greetings!

I’m Taylor and I am a watercolor artist based in Walworth, Wisconsin, a small village on the west end of Geneva Lake.

My watercolors are inspired by the wildlife and plants living their lives all around me ~ in my gardens, around the lake, and in the natural habitats my community strives to protect and grow. My work plays natural detail against abstract shapes, repeating patterns, and vibrant color and much like nature ~ is always evolving.

I’ve been making art since childhood. I studied art at UW-Stevens Point. For years after graduating, I felt creatively stifled and unsure, hyper critical of anything I made, and usually frustrated. It wasn’t until I lived in Austin, Texas that I finally connected with the earth by way of gardening, and I found that up close observation of plants and their pollinators led to a renewed love for making art. Working in my yoga community there helped me to build a daily art practice and become less critical and more forgiving of my work. Years spent working at a local nursery helped cultivate my interest in botanical and wildlife art, as well as natural gardening.

Art and gardening create balance for me. Each feeds and restores the other, just as the fine-detail in my botanical artwork feeds and inspires my abstract paintings and studies.

Here you can explore my watercolor, gouache, pen + ink, and digital artwork. In my shop you’ll find prints and cards, as well as original works of art, available for purchase. The collection changes often, so visit often!
